Most people that will use it for the purpose of buying a game system will most likely buy a 360 since the Wii and ps3 are not readily available.
A cooler less noisy version is coming out next year when the 360 swithces from 90nm to 65nm chips.

I think the most they would cut the cost is by $50.00 in Q2 and perhaps another $50 at Q4.
if it was on 360 it would be on ONE DVD disc with the same level of graphics.
They will probable have a 1080P movie showing the making of the game.
I am sure PS2 games will still sell very well next year, so sony is not in as bad a shape as some think.

If Blu Ray fails. Sony will have to make blu ray players AND disc specifically for the PS3 only.

At the $499-$599 price point, I don't think playstation 3 will sell as fast as ps2.
ALSO... the PS3 will loose its main advantage over the Xbox 360 making the X360 seem like a much better value.
